Would You Rather: Teacher Edition

Ramen Noodles or Mac ‘n’ Cheese?

Would You Rather: Teacher Edition

At the beginning of the school year, we wondered, what do our Carson teachers think about the silly child games that we love to play? There are card games like caps, and others like truth or dare, but we chose our favorite. We chose to play Would You Rather with the teachers. We went around the school and asked teachers from both grades some questions that related to their personal lives. The questions were about pasta preferences, clothing, reliving life, musical instruments, sleeping locations, and neon pens. When we got our responses back, we noticed some very interesting connections.

Two of the questions we asked were “would you rather play the trumpet for a living or play the violin”, and “would you rather wear white everyday or wear black everyday”. We noticed that a lot of the teachers that would rather wear black everyday would also rather play the violin everyday, and the teachers that would rather wear white would also rather play the trumpet.  We were told by the teachers that black is a very “slimming” color and that white stains to easily. The violin’s wood is usually stained. So clothing shouldn’t be stained, but wood should be? We don’t know. What do you think?

According to RCMS teachers, college is exciting, unlike high school. We asked them “would you rather live life again in high school or college?”, and nine out of ten teachers said college. Whether it was because of the freedom and power of being in charge, or liking the classes you’re taking, college is the best.  Ms. Clark from the eighth grade Voyagers team said “I need freedom-[There were] less restrictions.”

We also found an association with the color green and Kraft Mac ‘n’ Cheese. Four out of seven teachers we surveyed told us that they “would rather write with a green pen everyday than an orange pen everyday”, and “eat Kraft Mac & Cheese everyday rather than Ramen noodles everyday”. In our opinion, neon green is too bright, and we LOVE Ramen. Our conclusion is that maybe, as we grow older, our taste for color and pasta changes.

Another question we asked was “would you rather sleep in tree every night or sleep on the roof of the school every night?” We got some pretty unusual responses! Although there was a tie, some of the teachers wanted to build a treehouse, which bent the rules of the game. Other teachers told us that they were to clumsy to sleep in a tree, and that they would fall out.

As we reflected back on our survey, we noticed that most of our RCMS teachers really were divided when it comes to noodles, and where you sleep at night. They said that college is definitely better than high school, and black clothes looks much better than white. It’s decided that the violin trumps the trumpet, and that green is is better than orange, especially in neon. In conclusion, we noticed that our teachers really enjoyed our silly questions. They answered in creative fun ways, and it was very entertaining to interview different teachers and see how their differences affected their opinions.
