Congresswomen comes to Carson

U.S. Rep. Jennifer Wexton — a member of the Congressional Science, Space, and Technology committee — arrived at RCMS on May 29 to congratulate the winners of this year’s Science Bowl.

Rep. Wexton represents the 10th District of Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives.

On her request, Rep. Wexton arrived at Carson at around 8:30 in the morning and went straight to the library to sit down and talk and award the five winners this year. She also came with assistant superintendent Douglas Tyson.

Elaine Clubb, the person who organized the event, said that before leaving, Rep. Wexton spent a long time with the winners asking them about their experience and what the Science Bowl is as it was in her field of work.

“The students were all very excited,” Mrs. Clubb said. “They were proud that their accomplishments had gotten them this visit.”
