Rams’ star receiver suffers torn ACL

LA Rams star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a torn ACL on Feb. 13 during Superbowl LVI at Sofi Stadium. He was having a spectacular game when the injury occurred right before the end of the first half.

Odell Beckham Jr., LA Rams wide receiver, got traded from the Cleveland Browns to the LA Rams midseason. He was having a slow season with the Browns but immediately shined once he put on the Rams uniform. The season was going great for Odell and the Rams as they had obtained a 12-5 record and the division title.

Entering the Super Bowl, the Rams were favored to win but most fans were rooting for Joe Burrow and the Bengals. The game started and Odell started off the first quarter with a touchdown. Everything was looking great for the Rams.

Then, with 3:50 left in the first half, Odell went down. He was helped off the field and never came back on.

Suddenly the Bengals started to get hot and before you knew it, they were winning. Then with barely any time left in the game, the Rams threw a game winning touchdown to Super Bowl MVP, Cooper Kupp. The Bengals failed to score after that leaving the Rams as the Super Bowl champs.

Though he could not come back in the game, he was on the sideline when they won. It was a very emotional moment for him and his teammates.

After the game, SportsMax found out that Odell would have to undergo knee surgery.

Many other NFL players are blaming the injury on the artificial turf. 16/32 of the NFL teams use artificial turf and many players hate it according to CBS Sports.

“I don’t like artificial turf, I love grass! It’s better for my body, our team performance, AND the planet. Many other stars tweeted similar statements, linking the online petition.
