The Carson Jazz Band officially starts Nov. 1. Students who enroll into this after school activity have an opportunity to practice the art of jazz, further hone their inner musician, and interact with other fellow band members.

The particular activity takes place in room A129, in other words, the band room. Those who are interested in joining can submit an audition through Smart Music no later than Oct. 15. If your audition is approved, you will receive an invitation via email to complete the sight reading test Oct. 17-19 during your panther time. After successfully completing all these steps, you are officially eligible to attend the first rehearsal on Nov. 1.

Jazz band doesn’t just select band elective students. If you happen to play the guitar, upright bass, piano, and bass guitar, you can join too. The band will practice from 2:23 to 3:23 pm, right after school. Be sure to mark your calendar, and if you aren’t joining, expect the Jazz Band to be performing in many of Carson’s concerts.
