RCMS students of the 2023-24 school year said they found that the partnership with FCPS and Tutor.com helpful.
“My experience with tutor.com was very knowledgeable and valuable, because topics I was struggling with and was scared to ask for help, were given attention,” said Sahasra Pubbaraju, 12, Majestics.
At this age some parents can’t truly help with assignments and homework, but with the help of tutor.com you can get help from K-12. This free FCPS web service has experienced tutors which can help with languages and academic subjects.
A feature that many students like is the writing review, which is where you turn your writing to be reviewed by a tutor and given back within 24 hours. Students say that Tutor.com is a safe and secure place so you don’t have to show your face or anything around you.
“Something I love is how you don’t have to show your face or room,” said Kaylee Brazelton, 12, Majestic.
Tutor.com can be used before, in and after school for a wide variety of purposes. Sudents said using Ttutor.com can more likely ensure better grades and more likely to not have late work. They said having a 24/7 tutoring service means they don’t have to wait for a teacher to answer your questions. Instead of waitingh, they ave experienced tutors to help with what they need.
“This was helpful because it helped me at 10 p.m. to finish my homework,” said Kaylee.
There are many resources on tutor.com like writing reviews, on-demand tutoring, one to one tutoring, white board, chatting and mic, and test prep and self-study. Students agree that using tutor.com’s resources is very helpful and easy.
The white board, chatting and mic feature in tutor.com is said to be very helpful because you can better explain what you want to get through to them. If you would not like to use the mic feature they offer you can just use the chat option.
Tutor.com’s partnership with FCPS allows studets to use its services for free. Students who aren’t part of FCPS have to spend money to use tutor.com while FCPS students have an advantage.
“Never say no to free things,” said Ms. Leah Leuschner, an honors math teacher. Through tutor.com students could improve greatly. But a teacher says we can’t just have them try it once; having students going once a week or more can really benefit them.
“You don’t know everything about a subject so it would help to get extra practice,” said Sahasra.
