The admissions decisions for students who applied to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) were released on Friday, April 12, at 6 p.m. Out of over 2,000 applicants from across Northern Virginia, 550 were accepted into the Class of 2028. Hundreds of RCMS students applied.
Applicants received a decision of either Offer (admission), No Offer (rejection), or Waitpool. Some waitlisted applicants will be offered admission if others decline in the future. For admitted applicants, the deadline to accept admission and select courses is April 26.
The admissions process was based on several essays about the student’s Portrait of a Graduate attributes, one problem solving essay, and other factors such as GPA.
