Former President Donald Trump survived a second attempted assassination on Sept. 15, barely two months after the first attempt on June 13, while playing golf at his golf club at West Palm Beach, Florida.
The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, was armed with “a loaded SKS-style, 7.62×39 caliber rifle with a scope,” as described by an FBI special agent on CBS News. He camped outside the golf course for nearly 12 hours before being spotted by a Secret Service agent.
Routh fled, but was later found and arrested. Trump was not harmed.
Routh is currently being charged for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He will face a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted of both charges.
