The World Cubing Association held a Mid-Atlantic Speedcubing tournament on Sept. 21, in Catonsville, Md., at the University of Maryland.
Cubing is solving Rubik’s cubes for speed and other challenges. Many cubers work days and nights to improve their speed/personal best times.
The tournament victors were:
- 3x3x3; Ari Randers-Pehrson, time; 7.24
- 4x4x4; Ari Randers-Pehrson, time; 21.51
- 3x3x3 One Handed; Sam Deacon, time; 10.87
- Pyraminx; Daniel Goodman, time; 2.05
- Skewb; Brad Hoffman, time; 1.70
The event had 142 competitors and there were also first and second round competitions held.
The WCA plans to hold competitions in Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York over the next month. Here is a list of them.
