Is your favorite drink getting the axe?
Starbucks discontinued 13 drinks from its menu on March 4 in the U.S., because of difficulties performing the orders, or not much popularity. The drinks are 9 frappuccinos, Iced Matcha Lemonade, White Hot Chocolate, Royal English Breakfast Latte, and last but not least, the Honey Almondmilk Flat White.
By September 2025, Starbucks wants to cut 30% of its menu, due to drinks having low popularity, excessive steps, long wait times, and they were similar to other drinks, according to USA Today . Starbucks is claiming to “get back to Starbucks,” saying they want to focus on the more popular drinks with efficiency.
While some of your favorites might be leaving, Starbucks is adding new drinks like new lavender drinks, and the Iced Cherry Chai this spring.
Starbucks changing to mugs
Another change is that there are no more takeaway cups for people staying inside Starbucks. Since the start of 2025, mugs have taken their place. Staff will refill your mugs once finished with your coffee.
According to 5 Chicogo, Starbucks will no longer be giving you takeaway cups when you are sitting at Starbucks because officials say it will make it a more homey feeling. They decided that they needed this when their stocks went down in 2024.
The CFO of Chipotle, Brian Niccol is now going to be the CEO of Starbucks due to declining sales.
