Sigi Almon, Navy force, and Sam Woodhead, Army, speak in the library during a past Veterans Day.

Veterans Day at Rachel Carson will be held online this year on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

There will be guest speakers, presentations, and it will be totally virtual. Veterans from all over the country will speak to students through Google Meet.

There will be many veterans from many different backgrounds. As of Oct. 17, 35 veterans had confirmed their spot for the event.

The event will be two hours long, with a grace period of a few minutes in between the first round of speakers and the second.

Before the event, students will get a chance to know about the backgrounds of the veterans, and what they will be talking about. Based on that, they will decide which veteran’s presentation they would like to attend. After the veteran finishes the presentation, there will be time for questions.

Students can even move from presentation to presentation, but they will be advised to stick to one presentation the whole hour.

There will be two sessions, and that will complete the Veterans Day celebration at Rachel Carson MS.
