First presidential debate held between Trump and Biden

The first presidential debate of 2020 happened on Sept. 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. President Trump and Democratic candidate Biden came together to debate the current issues and their solutions to them. There were many topics but a few of the most important ones as of now are Covid-19, health care, and the economy.

Currently, Covid is causing all of America to be in lockdown, the U.S. is currently heavily infected and people are still getting infected at a high rate every day. Trump said that he is handling the situation very well, he says he is reopening lots of business, and jobs which can benefit our economy and get it back on track. Biden argues against that claim saying we haven’t even gotten our country out of the coronavirus crisis.

Health care right now is a really big issue with the current election because Trump wants to get rid of Obama care and provide better health care, but Biden wants to keep Obama care due to the people still using it. Biden argues that if it gets taken down, tons of people won’t be able to afford health care anymore and lots of people would die. Trump disagrees and says that all he is trying to do is give America better health care.

Due to Covid, many have lost their jobs and their ability to provide for their family. The unemployment rate is getting lower and lower as Covid goes on, but lots of people still aren’t employed yet. Trump claims that he is employing millions and bringing the economy out of this huge unemployment rate crisis. Biden says that the country is still too deep in the Covid crisis to start employing people again. He explains that we need to first bring our country back to lockdown so we can remove the disease, and then we can re-open our economy.

Trump is currently 74 years old, 3 years younger than Biden. He was born on June 14, 1946, in New York City. Biden is 77 years old, 3 years older than Trump. He was born on Nov. 20, 1942, in Pennsylvania. Biden is currently winning in votes.
