FCPS plans five days of in-person learning for Fall 2021

FCPS announced on March 16 that in the fall of 2021, all Fairfax County Public Schools will be open for five days a week for in-person learning.

Fairfax Superintendent Scott S. Braband said in a statement, “We have shown that we can return our students and staff to our building in a way that is safe and steady.”

Fairfax County Public Schools plans to prepare for students coming back for the entire week by reducing social distancing measures to 3 feet instead of 6 feet. A virtual option is expected to remain available.

“We will continue to focus on three areas: student and staff social-emotional wellness; attendance and engagement; and essential academic standards,” Braband said.
