Students start track club
One of the new clubs started this year was a track club, founded by Sibani Anbumani and Sarah Maazouzi on Sept. 20. They are both seventh-graders on the Champions team.
The club plans to meet in the cafeteria, then head outside for an hour of games, running, occasional races, and socializing, meeting on Wednesdays during B Block. This club gives members opportunities to build healthy relationships while exercising. The sponsor of the club is Brennae Hackett, a health and physical education teacher.
“We decided to start this club because there wasn’t already a running club, and I love to run,” says Sarah. “It’s great that we can combine running and after school activities to create this!”
Sibani said members should prepare for physical activity, and be dressed comfortably and appropriately for each session.
“At the end of each quarter, we’re going to race, and the winner gets a prize,” she said.
Potential members can sign up during lunch with Mr. Adam Pawlowski. The deadline for signing up is Sept. 29.
