Hall pass procedure updated
RCMS hall pass procedures changed as of Feb. 7, with students now using a special lanyard to leave class instead of blue and green passes. This is to manage student tracking and reduce unnecessary movement in the hallways.
Mr. Chris Powell announced the change on Friday, Feb. 4, stating that the online computer based hall pass would no longer be used. He also mentioned that there would be an in person sign out sheet where students can sign out and in before and after they leave the classroom.
For any students leaving early or arriving late, pink index cards will be given for them to put their information on to help keep track of people entering and leaving the building.
Green/blue passes will still be used, but only during Panther Time, as it’s a good way for students to go to their teachers and return back, but the sign out sheet should still be used. Lanyards will not used for Panther Time transitions because there’s only one per class and multiple students leave to see teachers per class. Removing the electronic pass also makes signing out easier as students don’t have to wait for it to open or charge their computers.
