This has been a crazy draft season, with Russell Wilson going to the Broncos, Tom Brady coming back after only 40 days of retirement and Carson Wentz going to the Commanders.

Dylan McFeely, an eighth-grader on the Wolves team said, “With all of these big trades going on, this next season is going to be crazy.” 

After 10 straight years of playing on the Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson has decided to come to the broncos. 

He did this because he wanted more control of the team and he wanted to be a leader instead of just a quarterback. This was something that Seattle was unable to give him. 

In the trade, the Denver Broncos got Russell Wilson, in exchange for two first round picks, two second round picks, one fifth round pick, Defensive Linemen Shelby Harris, Tight End Noah Fant, and Quarterback Drew Lock. 

Amy Allen, a seventh-grade English teacher on the  All-Stars team said, “I think the trade was absolutely worth it. I think Russell brings a level of play that might be elevated for the Broncos.”

Even though Drew Lock has played for the Broncos since 2019, some Broncos fans won’t miss him.

“No I won’t miss Drew at all- I don’t even remember what he looks like,” said Mrs. Allen.

On to the NFC. 

Tom Brady, one of the most prominent NFL quarterbacks in the 22 seasons he’s played, just announced last year that he was going to be retiring. This lasted 40 days after the 2022 season until he announced he was returning to the NFL via Twitter.

Mrs. Allen believes that “Tom Brady is trying to play a mental game,” and that “he should’ve stayed retired.

Tom Brady believes that his place is still on the field. 

Tom Brady on twitter, @tombrady, said, “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.” 

Brady is scheduled to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2023 season.

Tom Brady has widely been known as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history just since he was signed to Tampa in March of 2020. They have won 29 out of their 39 games.

Chandresh Duraisamy, an eighth-grader on the Dolphins team, said, “Tom Brady will always be respected by true football fans.” 

Aaron Rodgers also had the idea of retiring as he’s coming on 39 years old. 

In February of 2022 many rumors started circulating about the possibility of Aaron Rodgers, now the highest paid player in NFL history, being traded to the Denver Broncos.

 Aaron Rodgers ended up staying with the Packers on a three-year, $150 million contract. This is what Liam Ramnanan, an eighth-grader on the Explorers team had to say. 

Liam said, “A lot of teams missed the opportunity to hire him because he is an amazing quarterback, he should’ve asked teams instead of teams coming to him.” 

Philadelphia Eagles fans are made because we now have Carson Wentz who is going to the Washington Commanders.

Carson Wentz has just been traded to the Washington Commanders in exchange for two round 2 picks in the 2023 draft. Wentz is very well known from playing for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016 to 2020 when he then was traded to the colts. The Eagles and Commanders are major division rivals, many Philly fans no longer respect Wentz for the trade. 

Dylan McFeely, an eighth-grader on the Wolves team, and an eagles fan no longer has respect for Carson Wentz. 

Dylan said, “No, because he may have done good one year at the Eagles, but otherwise every other year he was just getting injured. Then he only had one good year and he wasn’t consistent. This is Carson Wentz’s last chance.”
