Spelling bee comes into action

The school’s Spelling Bee has begun! For RCMS 2022-2023, the Preliminary Spelling Bee will be on Tuesday, Feb. 14, and if you qualify you make it the School Spelling Bee, which will be on Feb. 28. Both of the Spelling bees will be in the Cafeteria during A block.

Participation to sign up has been done as of Jan. 13. An email was sent out to students on Jan. 6 and RCTV has been telling information about it. The Spelling Bee is open to anyone, in either grade, and you are invited to join.

A Spelling Bee is a competition for students to spell random words the judges give. If they spell the word right, they pass and wait their turn for the next word they have to spell in the next round. If they get it wrong, they are out and they have to try again next year! When giving their answer, they must say the word, spell it, then repeat the word again. If all of the students get the word wrong, then all of the students get another shot at it. You are allowed to repeat the word, but you can’t change any letters or the order of the letters from the previous spelling.
