Carson students win STEM competition awards
The RCMS Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter won 18 awards March 4 at a Northern Virginia regional competition March. Twelve individuals and six teams received awards and will continue to the next competition level.
TSA is an organization in which students in middle and high school in competitive STEM events at the regional, state, and national levels. This competition was called Regionals, and it was hosted by Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
Competing teams and individuals will be advancing in competitions where they placed in the top three. The chapter won first-place awards in several events including STEM Animation, Community Service Video, and Essays on Technology. Three or more individual students won awards in Essays on Technology and in Promotional Marketing.
Students who placed high enough in their events will be continuing to the next level at Technosphere, the state competition, in early May. Those who place high enough at Technosphere will continue to the highest level, Nationals, in the summer in Kentucky.
