Best prospects to look out for in 2023 NFL draft

The 2023 NFL Draft, happening on April 27-29 2023 in Kansas City, is very important because many teams attempted to reshape their teams with this draft. Many young players will mark a new era for these teams, as veteran players retire after the 2022-23 season.

One player to look out for is QB Bryce Young, who currently plays for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He is six feet tall, which lets him see over his lineman and hit his targets accurately, while being lightweight which lets him take the ball himself on QB sneaks. Many teams are looking for a quarterback, such as the Washington Commanders, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, etc. Many teams are competing for the #1 and #2 pick, as they are all looking for a quarterback.

Another prospect in this draft is Quentin Johnston, who is currently playing for TCU. Multiple teams need a wide receiver, such as Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and the New York Giants. His extensive knowledge of zone defense helps him when running routes across the field. His speed also helps him outrun the DBs, CBs, and Safeties. He makes incredible catches for tons of yards. His size and weight also makes him difficult to bring down, which allows many yards after catch and contact.

The Chicago Bears have the #1 pick, and they need an edge. The person they may draft could be Will Anderson Jr., who is currently playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Cardinals, Seahawks, Bears, Raiders, Rams, and Falcons are all looking to take a steal in this draft and develop his skill into a lethal weapon on defense. His pass rush is useful which therefore racks up sacks and helps his offense get on the field faster. His run defense is even better which lets minimal yards gained and gets loss of yardage if possible. He helps stop 4th down plays and makes sure his offense gets to score touchdowns and win games.

Another contested pick is C.J. Stroud, playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Many teams are in need of a quarterback, such as the Texans, Colts, Seahawks, Raiders, Falcons, Panthers, and Commanders. They all need a young quarterback who can make plays on the field. His passing skill set is incredible. He is a huge deep threat quarterback, which can be very good if his receivers make plays and he can turn the tide of the game quickly. His medium and short passing is good too which could be very helpful when no deep passes are available. He is also massive, which minimizes sacks and maximizes offensive firepower.

There are many outstanding players in the NFL Draft this year and it will be exciting to see which teams pick what players. It will be interesting to see what those teams’ plans are for the future of their franchise with these young collegiate players taking the field.
