Although most kids these days would rather be inside, there are kids our age that do like going outside, but most people will just tell you that there is nothing to do, but there are plenty of places that you can have fun or eat.

There are also fun things that you can do inside and although most places cost money you can just go outside for free or hangout with your friends.

”Me and my friends hang out outside all the time,” said eighth-grade student Christian Wyatt.

There are tons of bike trails and just walking trails near here with D.C. so close, and the W&OD trail also being close lots of people come just to ride the trails. There are other things to do outside like skating. There are several skate parks that aren’t too far as well as bike trails and places where you can do tricks on bikes.  You can also go to the zoo or a park, watch a movie or go to the air and space museum.

Another good thing about living here is that it’s so close to the capital so you can go to D.C. and do something there.

“I love riding my bike through the bike trails near here,” said eighth-grade student Christian Wyatt.

Water parks are a great way to cool down in the summer, and there are several water parks not too far away. Or you can just go to a pool with most neighborhoods having their own pool for the community to use.

Another way to have fun with water is to go to one of the many lakes in the area. There are four lakes nearby as well as several water parks and pools.  If you want you can rent a paddle board and go out on the lakes.

“The lakes around here are great for fishing,” said seventh-grade student Domonic Gallagher.

There are tons of indoor activities too like trampoline parks, indoor skydiving, Top Golf, the mall, and escape rooms.

There are also plenty of places to eat. Here are a few good places: Matchbox, Longhorn, Melting Pot, Burger 21, Sweet Water, Glory Days, Anitas, VA Kitchen, Duck Doughnuts, and Founding Farmers.

If you want to shop you can go to Reston Town Center which has restaurants, clothes shopping and many more stores.

“I love going to Reston Town Center,” said seventh grade student Brooks Newman.

There are fun places to go and things to do. You just have to know where to look. There are also the basic stores that are everywhere like Target, Walmart, grocery stores, and more. There are seasonal events like fairs and plenty of malls to go to.

“Me and my friends go to the mall all the time,” said eighth-grade student R’ieana Dade .
